Creating a Channel
To start using LINE Login on your website, you first need to create a Channel for your app. This page describes the steps to create a Channel.
What’s a Channel?
On the LINE Platform, all services (applications, games, tools, websites) must belong to a Channel. Once you have created a Channel, you’ll be issued a Channel ID and will be able to use APIs and other features. Your Channel must have a name, a description, and an icon image.

There are 2 types of statuses for Channels, DEVELOPING and PUBLISHED. Newly created Channels are set to DEVELOPING. Once development is completed, you can make a request to have your Channel published. The status will be changed to PUBLISHED, once your request is approved.
- DEVELOPING Only developers can use the Channel.
- PUBLISHED All users can use the Channel.
A Channel for your app is automatically created when you create a business account with LINE Login from the LINE Business Center. Before you start, make sure you have completed the following:
- Registered your profile information on the LINE Business Center
- Created an “enterprise” (“company”). Note: Individuals can use the “Sole Proprietor” option.
Create a business account
Select LINE Login from the Accounts tab on the LINE Business Center
Fill in the following required information for your business account and Channel.
- Account and Channel name
- Account and Channel icon image
- Channel description
- Application type: WEB for websites, NATIVE_APP for iOS or Android apps
- Email address
Click OK and confirm the information for your account and Channel
Click LINE Developers to confirm the information on the Channel Console
You can provide support for additional languages other than English by following the steps below.
Add names and descriptions for other languages
Click Edit on the basic information page
Select a language and click Add name and description
Enter the name and description into the newly added fields
Click SAVE at the bottom of the page
Note: To change the name or icon of your Channel, go to the settings page of your business account in the LINE Business Center. The changes will automatically be synced with the Channel Console.
