Word Definition
BOT API (deprecated) Service which gives LINE official accounts and LINE@ accounts the ability to automatically send customized messages and receive messages from users using APIs.
BOT API Trial (deprecated) (Note: This type of account has been discontinued.) Type of BOT API account which lets you use a LINE@ account to send and receive messages from users using APIs.
Business Connect A type of plan for the Messaging API which lets you send and receive messages, send rich messages, send link messages, use rich menus, and use Web Channel Applications.
Buttons template message A type of template message which can have multiple action buttons, text, a title, and an image.
Carousel template message A type of template message which can have multiple columns with messages that can include action buttons, text, titles, and images.
Channel Any application or service that works with LINE (including games, tools, websites) on the LINE Platform.
Channel access token Access tokens used by Business Connect servers to call APIs without performing the authentication and authorization process.
Channel Console Tool for managing Channels.
Channel creator role Users with this role can use all LINE Platform features including creating new Channels.
Channel editor role Users with this role can manage assigned Channels.
Channel ID Identifier issued when registering for a Channel.
Channel secret Signature key issued when registering for a Channel.
Channel Web Application Web application which runs in the WebView component of the LINE app.
Channel WebView WebView component of the LINE app.
Confirm template message A type of template message which has two action buttons.
Developer role Users with this role can access APIs through the LINE Platform.
Developer Trial A free plan for the Messaging API which gives you access to both the Reply API and the Push API. Limited to 50 friends.
Domain whitelist List of domains that can be opened from a Channel Web Application.
Dummy Friends Feature used to simulate friends on the friend list for testing applications.
Entry page Top page of a Channel Web Application.
Entry URL Entry URL for Channel Web Applications. The LINE app opens this URL in the browser.
Event endpoint URL Registered endpoint URL which lets your Business Connect server receive requests sent from the LINE Platform.
Group LINE chat that is created by a LINE user. A group can be made up of only one user. An invitation is required to join groups. Users can accept or decline invitations to groups.
Home Space in the LINE app where you can upload posts.
Imagemap message Message with an image which can contain multiple links corresponding to different areas of the image.
“LINE it!” button Button used to share websites with other LINE users.
LINE Business Center Platform which allows organizations to create and manage their business accounts, LINE@, LINE Login, and BOT API Trial accounts.
LINE Login Feature that lets users log in to websites or apps using their LINE accounts.
LINE Login button Button used to log in to LINE.
LINE official account Searchable LINE account for businesses or celebrities.
LINE Platform Platform for integrating LINE services for third party application developers.
LINE@ Service for creating accounts to promote both personal and business content.
Link message Message that includes a thumbnail and link. Sent to users using an API.
Messaging API Service which provides APIs to let you interact directly with LINE users through a LINE@ or official account.
MID Unique identifier used across the LINE Platform.
Mission stickers Stickers that are made available to users only when they accomplish specific tasks.
Operation An event such as adding or blocking a friend.
Room A LINE chat with 2 or more LINE users where users can freely add other users to the chat.
Server whitelist List of registered servers where APIs can be called from.
Social REST API Service which provides REST APIs for getting user profile information.
Status message Message which shows up on a user’s profile. Users can use this message to share their thoughts and feelings with friends.
Subpage Any page other than the entry page of a Channel Web Application.
Template message Message with a predefined layout which you can customize. Template message types include: buttons, confirm, and carousel template types.
Timeline Space in the LINE app where you can view posts by friends.
Title bar Bar at the top of the screen for Channel Web Applications.
Web Login Login feature for mobile and desktop websites.
